This week we are going to explore Pitta which is the summer season. When you think of summer, what do you think of? Summer usually brings to mind heat, sun, salt and maybe the beach. When we are feeling hot we may get irritable, have heartburn, or have trouble sleeping.
The chilly months usually bring to mind tiredness, cold, fatigue, and sluggishness. Do you feel this way all the time or primarily in the fall/early winter season? Do you feel out of control, anxious, have insomnia, or feel cold and have dry skin? Then you may be experiencing some of the side-affects from this season change.
Ayurveda helps us live in harmony with nature and the changing seasons and helps to prevent and even cure disease. This self-healing happens through diet, exercise, relaxation, breathing exercises, cleansing of the body, mind and spirit. I know, that’s a lot but it’s all about small changes and Ayurveda is a lifestyle.
